DESCRIPTION:The East County Art Association invites you to join us for our inaugural\n!NKED Exhibition during the month of October!\nEXHIBITION DATES: October 1-31st 2026 \nSUBMISSIONS OPEN \nSUBMIT on submission page CLICK HERE \n \nIn the Spirit of INKtober\, this exhibition revolves all about art inspired by black and white line work in inks\, graphite\, ball-point pen\, marker\, and other tattoo art- inspired work. The Gallery invites artists to explore the world of inking and traditional and contemporary tattoo art with bold designs\, quality line work\, exploring the variety of ink pen tip widths\, textures\, depths and designs that can be achieved with ink as the highlighted media! \nRECEPTION DATE: October 17th 2026\nTIME: 5-8PM \nThe Inked reception will feature several invited local tattoo artists who will have their work on display in the exhibition. Some tattoo artists will offer paid on-the-spot small tattoos for the night. There will be live activations of inking stations\, where you can create your own inked piece of art with the possibility of being featured in the Inktober Show in Gallery 2 in November. The evening will include live music\, refreshments\, open bar and the coffee shop will be open as well. \nARTIST CALL \nCalling All Artists to participate with your black and white ink drawings\, ink watercolors\, graphite line work\, ball-point pen designs\, inked mixed media pieces. Other media may be used as long as 80% of the piece is inked and black and white. \nSUBMIT HERE \n  \n

SUMMARY:Line & Wash Watercolor: Dragonfly with Boho Background
DESCRIPTION:This class will focus on using wet on wet painting techniques\, to create a whimsical dragonfly in\ntransparent watercolor washes and ink illustrations. Participants will complete a pre-sketched\ndesign with a Boho background effect.\nThis workshop is designed for adults and teens over age 14.     All skill levels are welcome. \nSaturday October 3\, 2026 10:00am-1:00pm \n\nMaterials Provided by the Teaching Artist:\nHeavy watercolor paper with pre-sketched dragonfly ready for painting\nWatercolor paints\nMixing palettes\nBrushes\nSponge blotters for creating Boho effects\nMicron Fine Point Ink Liners\nFine tip white highlighter pen\nOptional mats available for framing\n\nDescription of Your Art Style or Medium: (e.g.\, watercolor\, abstract\, portraiture\, etc.)\nWatercolor\, Watercolor Pencils & Mixed Media. My painting style ranges from realism to impressionism. \nThe goal for the class is to introduce simple line and wash watercolor techniques that can be used by\nbeginning and experienced painters in their practice. \n  \n  \n

Throughout her distinguished career\, she inspired generations of students\, encouraging them to develop their creative voices and pursue their artistic passions. \nPresented in conjunction with her solo exhibition\, Earthly Garden\, this intimate conversation will offer a behind-the-scenes look at the inspiration and creative process behind Dr. Ramos’s expressive paintings. She will discuss several of the techniques she uses to create luminous watercolor washes\, intricate details\, and richly imagined compositions inspired by flora and fauna.
