He has spent his career dedicated to capturing the powerful beauty and ever-changing moods of California’s southern coastline. His luminous wave paintings bring the Pacific shores to life\, from the crashing surfs at La Jolla and Sunset Cliffs to the serene tides along our local beaches\, with masterful light\, motion\, and an unmistakable sense of place that only a true coastal observer can convey. \nAlongside his work\, his wife\, Shiloh presents her exquisite textile art and quilts\, created to continue the long legacy of women for generations. Her pieces range from striking art quilts designed to hang as wall statements to luxurious\, large-scale bed quilts and one-of-a-kind quilt coats. Each quilt is a heirloom in the making\, rich in color\, texture\, and meaning; carefully crafted to become historically precious family treasures passed down through generations\, carrying stories of love\, tradition\, and craftsmanship. \nTogether\, Canvas and Thread invites viewers to explore the elegant interplay between fluid paint on canvas and the intricate dance of needle and fabric. DESCRIPTION:Colored Pencil Realism Workshop- Instructor: Ron Spagnola\n\nMay 23\, 10am-2pm\nJoin instructor Ron for an immersive four-hour workshop designed to strengthen your colored pencil skills and bring your drawings to life. This class focuses on the essential techniques of transferring an image onto drawing paper\, along with an in-depth exploration of color blending and thoughtful color combinations. Participants will work toward completing a full drawing while developing a strong foundation in realism. \nRon will guide you through blending methods and color layering techniques to achieve bright\, rich\, and vibrant results using colored pencil. Whether you’re refining your approach or exploring realism for the first time\, this workshop offers a supportive and engaging environment to grow your skills. \nThe class is open to participants ages 15 and up and welcomes all skill levels. DESCRIPTION:Multi-Media Seascapes on Mini-Canvas\n\nCelebrate your love of the ocean with fun to create seaside scenes using acrylics\, seashells and sand with instructor\, Kathie Bishop\, at the East County Art Association this June 20th\, 10am-1pm!\nKathie will use a portable projector\, to make each step easy to follow. This workshop will focus on an appreciation of our oceans and marine life\, as well as promote the artists exhibiting during ECAA Ocean Love show. Mini easels are included. \nArt Mediums: Liquid Acrylics\, mini-easels and natural found objects from the\nbeach\, including sand\, seashells\, seaweed\, etc. \nThis workshop is for adults of any skill level.
