Iris folding for the Holidays

A Festive Paper Art Workshop with Rhonda Cole

Presented by the East County Art Association

Discover the beautiful and intricate art of iris folding in this festive, hands-on workshop led by artist Rhonda Cole!

Iris folding is a unique paper art technique that involves carefully folding and layering colorful strips of paper to create stunning geometric patterns that resemble the iris of a camera. The result is an elegant, dimensional design that transforms simple paper into a captivating work of art.

Just in time for the holiday season, participants will explore this creative technique using a selection of holiday-inspired patterns and decorative papers provided by the instructor. Under Rhonda’s step-by-step guidance, you’ll learn how to arrange, fold, and secure paper strips to bring your chosen design to life.

By the end of the workshop, you’ll have created your very own handcrafted holiday card
or frameable artwork, perfect for gifting, decorating, or keeping as a special seasonal treasure!

No previous experience or special artistic skills are required. This welcoming workshop is designed for beginners and creative enthusiasts alike. Rhonda hopes to inspire participants with the knowledge and confidence to continue exploring iris folding independently long after the class.
